Sunday School child_sun_sch_icon
Alta UMC offers age-appropriate Sunday morning classes to teach the stories of faith to the youngest disciples in our church. Sunday School is offered at 9:00 a.m. each Sunday morning for children who are preschool age through 6th grade.

Children's Events child_community_events
Alta UMC supports a number of children's events in and around our community, as they become available and advertised. We host an annual Trunk or Treat event in October at the church where parents can bring their children for a safe time of getting candy from the vehicle trunks of church members and also dress in their favorite costume.

Education Committee
Members of the Education Committee serve a three-year term. The Education Committee meets regularly to discuss and implement children's ministry.

Acolytes
Alta UMC worship services are assisted by a team of acolytes each week. The acolytes are children who have undergone a training class. The acolytes bring the “Light of Christ” into our worship service and light the candles. The acolytes remind us that each of us is called to carry the “Light of Christ” out into the world as they symbolically leave with their wands lit. Any child in 4th grade or 5th is invited to attend acolyte training and become a part of this very special ministry.
