Reaching Everyone
Who Are We?
C.A.R.E. is the Congregational Care Ministry of Alta United Methodist Church. We are a group of people who choose to reach out and help others. We look for ways that we can bring God's love into the Alta community by sharing our time and our gifts. We strive to nurture one another’s faith within the Alta community by providing care and support through challenging circumstances, such as illness, loss, unemployment, divorce and other stressful transitions in life. This nurturing support is provided through pastoral care as well as through numerous ministries where fellow brothers and sisters care for one another in the spirit of love and hope in Jesus Christ.
What Do We Do?
The Care Ministry is designed to show love and concern to people who live in Alta and the surrounding community, to people who attend Alta UMC, by people who attend Alta UMC, through meeting physical, emotional, or spiritual needs. Because of the broad range of possible needs, the Care Ministry functions as an umbrella structure to assist the pastor in meeting individual and families needs and teams of volunteers are developed to carry out the details of helping individuals and families. As needs arise, those serving on the ministry teams can anticipate being called upon to help out — anywhere from once or twice per year to two or three times per month, depending on the area of service. Within the various areas of the Care Ministry there is a place for everyone at Alta United Methodist Church.
How Do I Get Involved?
If you see an area you would like to serve, please contact the ministry team leader at the church office for more information. If you have a need in one of these ministries, please contact the Care Ministry Coordinator, or one of the ministry team leaders.
